If you’re a climber, there are plenty of places to explore nearby Convention. Head out to Independence Pass to explore steller routes combined with short approaches, all in a beautiful alpine setting.
Rifle Mountain Park is just 30 miles west of Glenwood Springs and boasts some very advanced and technical climbing opportunities. Some call it America’s Premier Sport Climbing Park. Try your hand (and fingertips!) on a huge number of sport routes, but beware, almost all of the routes are above a 5.10 rating.

Just a few hours southwest of Glenwood, is the stunning Colorado National Monument. This stunning location is full of sandstone towers and canyons, as well as first ascents for you to explore.
